Use AnonPaste without an account
AnonPaste is designed to work without an account. You can create ordinary pastes, choose privacy and expiry settings, and share the link without registering.
Your browser uses an Anon ID to keep your anonymous activity and control connected on that browser. It is an anonymous identity, not a public profile or an account.
What your Anon ID does
Section titled “What your Anon ID does”Your Anon ID helps AnonPaste recognise that you created content when you return in the same browser. Keep the private manage link shown after creating a paste as well: it is another way to return to supported editing, analytics, archive, and deletion controls.
If you lose both your browser identity and the manage link, anonymous content may not be recoverable.
Back up your Anon ID
Section titled “Back up your Anon ID”Save a backup before clearing browser data, changing devices, or using a different browser.
- Open Anonymous preferences.
- Under Anon ID, choose Export.
- Set and safely store a password for the backup.
- Download and keep the backup file somewhere secure.
The backup is encrypted with the password you choose. It contains your anonymous identity and the recovery phrase for its master key, which lets you restore access to anonymous activity and protected features that depend on it. Do not share the backup file or its password.
Restore a backup
Section titled “Restore a backup”To continue using your anonymous identity in another browser or after clearing browser data:
- Open Anonymous preferences.
- Choose Import.
- Select the backup file and enter the password you set when exporting it.
The browser will resume that anonymous identity. If the backup file or password is lost, it cannot be restored.
Start with a new Anon ID
Section titled “Start with a new Anon ID”You can choose Rotate in Anonymous preferences to start a new anonymous identity in the current browser. Your existing anonymous activity remains connected to the previous Anon ID, so export it first if you may need it again.
Features that need an account
Section titled “Features that need an account”An account is optional for ordinary text and code pastes, but some features need one to help prevent abuse:
- uploading files to a paste
- sending message attachments
- saved-paste management, profiles, and billing features
Create an account when you need those features or want your content and settings connected to a signed-in profile.
Country flag
Section titled “Country flag”A country flag can appear beside public content to provide cultural context and make the platform more transparent. It is optional: you can hide it in Anonymous preferences under Privacy.
If you use an account, manage the same option from Dashboard → Settings → Account instead. See Country flags for more detail.
