Password and email

• Create an account with email and password, or Google. See Create an account.
• Change email from account settings when logged in.
• Forgot password: use Reset your password and follow the email link.

Encrypted-content recovery

AnonPaste may ask you to download a recovery phrase when encrypted account features are set up. Store it somewhere private and separate from your password.

If you reset a forgotten account password, encrypted content may stay locked until you restore the recovery phrase. Replacing the encrypted identity without that phrase can make older encrypted content permanently unavailable.

Never share the recovery phrase with support or another person.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA)

Enable MFA from account security settings:

1. Start MFA setup — scan the QR code with an authenticator app.
2. Enter the verification code to confirm.
3. Store backup recovery information safely.

To disable MFA, use the disable flow in settings (requires your current MFA code).

Age verification

Some content or links require age verification for compliance:

• Check status in account settings.
• Complete verification when prompted (for example before accessing gated links or NSFW content).

API keys (developers)

If you use the Developer API, treat your API key like a password. Generate and revoke keys from Settings → Developer. See API key management.

Delete account

To permanently remove your account, see Delete your account.
