Redirect modes and privacy gates

When someone opens your short link, AnonPaste can send them straight to the destination or show a confirmation page first. Some links also require captcha or age confirmation before continuing.

Redirect modes (Supporter and above)

Supporter, Pro, and Max users can set the redirect mode when creating or editing a saved link.

Interstitial (default)

Visitors are sent to anonpaste.com/link/{slug} first. They see a confirmation page, then continue to your destination. This is the default for all users.

Best for: Affiliate links, unknown destinations, or when you want a branded pause before leaving AnonPaste.

Direct

Visitors skip the AnonPaste page and go straight to the destination URL from pathto.link.

Best for: Trusted destinations, campaigns where every extra click hurts conversion, or internal tools.

Free accounts always use interstitial behavior for the public short URL, even if the destination is harmless.

Privacy gates

Gates can apply when:

• You add a routing rule with a gate action (Pro), or
• Site policy requires verification for certain destinations.

Supported gate types:

Gate	What the visitor does
Captcha	Complete a Turnstile captcha on the confirmation page
Age	Confirm they are 18 or older

After passing a gate, the visitor continues to the final URL.

If verification fails, they stay on the gate page with an error message and can try again.

What visitors see (interstitial)

1. Open pathto.link/your-slug (or follow a redirect from there).
2. Land on the AnonPaste link page (/link/{slug}).
3. Complete any required gates.
4. Click through to the destination URL you configured.

Tips

• Use interstitial for links you do not fully control (user-generated destinations, promos).
• Use direct only when you trust the target URL and want minimum friction.
• Combine routing rules with gates when different audiences need different checks.
